How Many Alerts Are There in DC Universe Online?

While the idea of playing in a game like DC Universe Online is incredibly attractive, what draws most people to the game is the thought of facing off against enemies in epic scenario battles through end-game content. So, it was important that players were given a lot of Alerts and Raids to choose from when they started levelling up.

Most new MMOs have anywhere from 5 to 15 new dungeons when the game is launched and 3-5 end game instances. DCU Online falls right into that category with a good collection of both that will allow players to engage on a very interesting level of combat.

The Alerts

The first few alerts will open up between Level 7 and 9 (though it is recommended you are at least level 8 and probably level 9 before you take on the first one). You can join a PUG and try to take out the content in tandem with other players, but it's even better if you have a good group of players you know and can chat with over headsets. If you're on a PC this is easier with third party chat programs, but on the PS3 you'll need to make sure you friend up with people in advance and get their codes.

The first alerts include Area 51, Gorilla Island and the H.I.V.E Moon Base. Carrying on the storyline introduced in the tutorial, you'll engage a number of enemies across each alert as the story moves along. Bludhaven is next with a ton of interesting mobs to take on followed by ACE chemicals and Khandaq (a fantastically designed alert straight from the comics).

Other Alerts you'll be able to play as the game progresses include Oolong Island, Shadowlands, the iconic Smallville, Themyscira, Trigon's Lair and a pair of PvP Alerts including S.T.A.R. Labs and the Tomb of Isis.

Raids

When you ding level 30 and get suitably geared up from completing these Alerts, you'll gain access to the four raids in the game, starting with Arkham Asylum where you'll face off against Poison Ivy, Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze. In the Bat Cave, you'll face Bat Sentinels, RCP and the ominous OMAC from Infinite Crisis. The two final raids include S.T.A.R Labs and Stryker's Island.

Written by two of DC Comics' finest story builders, the Alerts and Raids behind this game are shaping up to be one of the biggest drawing points in a game that has already attracted a huge collection of gamers, comic fans, and just plain story lovers.
